Ian’s Bio

Ian is a former elite cyclist, having raced in Europe and U.S.A. amongst some of the top names and faces of the cycling world. Ian also was a track and field competitor and wrestler in high school and college. Although no longer racing bikes, Ian remains competitive in adventure races and in other sporting ventures, including the 2008 CrossFit Games. Ian recently returned to competition after some time off to focus on the gym and to let injuries heal up. Ian competed in the 2010 CrossFit Games NorCal Sectionals where won his heat in in one of the 4 events, placed high in the other events allowing him to compete in the finals for the top 20 men who would advance to CFG Regionals. After a brutal final workout, Ian went on to place 28th overall out of a field of 275 male competitors, narrowly missing qualifications for Regionals. Beware - next year will be here soon!

After his racing career, Ian moved onto a law enforcement career & over the past 13 years has worked at Santa Cruz Sheriff's Dept. and Sacramento Sheriff's Dept. where he is currently a K9 Handler and SED Operator. Ian has worked other assignments in patrol, FTO, and SWAT, all of which round out his ability to work towards creating fitter and healthier Public Safety professionals.

Ian also teaches/consults SSD Department members as a member of the SSD Health & Wellness Team, using Zone, Paleo and CrossFit principles as his emphasis. This program has been tremendously successful and many SSD personnel have reaped the benefits of improved health after consultations with Ian!

Ian is a certified CrossFit trainer, Certified CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Trainer, has attended the CrossFit Nutrition seminar and is CPR/AED certified. Ian handles all CrossFit Centurion programming, prescribes personalized strength programming for CFC clients and is a regular trainer on the CFC gym floor.

Ian is committed helping his clients achieve their fitness and lifestyle goals no matter what!
