WOD 9/6/10

Happy Labor Day!!! (although I have no idea why we want to celebrate the process of a women pushing a bowling ball through a tiny orifice for many hours on end....nasty....)

THE GYM IS OPEN TODAY!! NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS!!

4 Rounds

50 Jump Taps
40 Squats
30 Sit-ups
20 Push-ups
10 Pull-ups

The jump taps should be done to a height at least 6" above your standing reach. You can use the Wall Ball lines or the bars of the pull up structure. 25 per side at a time. When you are done, it would be a good idea to stretch your calves....

Fight Gone Bad 5 is coming. You can register via the link on the CFC Logo to the left. You can register and compete, or simply donate and come down to heckle, judge or laugh. It will be held at CFC on September 25th at 10 AM. Get on it now!

I have heard more than a few folks talking about the recent media scare about the supplement, Creatine. First off, the media is for the most part stupid. Secondly, anyone who blindly follows media advice like a lemming off a cliff is stupider (not sure that's a proper word, but it works for now). Lastly, Creatine is a naturally occurring substance that has been found to benefit human health and performance. It is commonly found in red meat and has been cornered as a supplement to boost internal levels to incerase athletic performance. Creating is a cell volumizer- cells get bigger due to more water retention, which in muscle cells leads to an increase is strength due to an increased ability to synthesize protein more efficiently. Also, Creatine is a fuel source for the muscles at the cellular level. ATP uses Creatine to fuel the muscles, so an increase is Creatine in the system provides an increase is the body's ability to work. HERE is an article from T-Nation reviewing the recent media stupidity about Creatine.

Don't be skeered....

You can thank Jeff for this moment of Mr. T revival and brevity... good stuff!
