Allison’s Bio

In 2008, Allison and her husband, Ian, opened CrossFit Centurion in their garage. They started small and continually grew through organic growth via high quality training. CrossFit Centurion was one of the very first CrossFit affiliate gyms in Sacramento and remains the largest and most respected in the local area and in the CrossFit community!

Allison is a certified CrossFit Level 2 coach, a certified CrossFit Kids Level 1 Coach, has attended the CrossFit Endurance Trainer’s course, CrossFit Nutrition course, CrossFit Scaling course, and is an attendee of Catalyst Athletics Olympic Weightlifting course. Allison demands perfection from her clients and has no room for excuses. Combined with her great personality and attitude, Allison is able to change her clients lives for the better!

Allison coaches the Monday AM/Noon classes, Tuesday AM, and other specialty classes at CFC.

Allison is a mother of two boys and a former Realtor who not only works full time as a mom and wife, but oversees the administrative duties at CFC as well as being a regular trainer on the CFC gym floor. Allison is a former softball player and motocross racer with a natural ability and enjoyment of sports!

Allison found great success with CrossFit after the birth of her second son and has endeavored to pass on her gift of fitness to other people. Combining the Zone, the Paleo diet and CrossFit, Allison lost large amounts of weight, improved her self-image and confidence, and became fitter than ever before. Allison routinely proves that women are capable of much more than they think and she challenges women to strive for excellence and reach for new goals each time they step into the gym.

Allison is incredibly strong and a very capable athlete. Her ability to work hard and push through mental and physical barriers have given her a new outlook on her life and made her a role model for other women. Allison competes in various CrossFit events to put her fitness to the test and provide her with an outlet to showcase her physical abilities. Allison’s passion and strength in the gym is in the Olympic lifts, where she excels in mental and physical fortitude.

Ian’s Bio

The man known as “Crazy Ivan” has been involved with CrossFit since the early 2000’s while working in Santa Cruz. Crazy Ivan has coached and trained with the CrossFit methodology for the past 12 years and along with his wife, Allison, opened CFC in 2008. CFC was one of the original CrossFit affiliate gyms in Sacramento and remains one of the largest and most well respected, locally and in the CrossFit community.

Crazy Ivan is a long time student of human performance and exercise science and certified CrossFit Level 2 coach. Crazy Ivan is a certified CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Trainer, a USAW Level 1 Coach, has attended the CrossFit Nutrition, CrossFit Scaling Course, and CrossFit Endurance Trainer’s seminars and is CPR/AED certified. Crazy Ivan handles all CrossFit Centurion programming utilizing a scientifically based periodized template, prescribes personalized strength programming for CFC clients and is a regular trainer on the CFC gym floor. Crazy Ivan also conducts the “Centurion Strength & Conditioning” seminars to assist other coaches and gyms in developing a more efficient and effective S&C program for their clients.

Crazy Ivan coaches the Monday AM/Noon classes, Tuesday Oly Lift AM Classes, and other specialty classes at CFC.

Crazy Ivan is a former elite cyclist, having raced in Europe and U.S.A. among some of the top names and faces of the cycling world in the 1990’s. Crazy Ivan also wrestled in high school and college. He currently remains competitive in adventure races and in other sporting ventures, competing in CrossFit competitions in Northern California as well as having competed in the CrossFit Games and CrossFit Games selection events.

Crazy Ivan has spent the past 20 years as a Law Enforcement professional, working for the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Dept. (Patrol, FTO and SWAT) and currently, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Dept. Crazy Ivan has spent the past 6 years on the department’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED / SWAT) where he supervises the unit as one of the Team Leaders. Prior to this, he spent spent 6 years as a K9 handler. Crazy Ivan has worked other assignments in patrol, as a Field Training Officer, narcotics investigations, and as a tactical instructor, all of which round out his ability to work towards creating fitter and healthier Public Safety professionals.

Crazy Ivan also teaches/consults SSD Department members as a member of the SSD Health & Wellness Team, using Zone, Paleo and CrossFit principles as his emphasis. This program has been tremendously successful and many SSD personnel have reaped the benefits of improved health after consultations with Crazy Ivan!

Brad was a personal trainer in the globo gym prior to obtaining his CrossFit Level 1 Certification. Brad is a top-notch athlete with a passion for Olympic weightlifting, and competes as often as he can in CrossFit based events. He is usually the guy wearing the most outlandish clothing at events and an enthusiastic and motivated coach who brings new ideas and concepts to the coaching floor at CFC.

Cyrus Mohtasham is one of CFC’s early clients who transitioned to coaching after several years. Cyrus is a standout athlete and his competitive CrossFit results reflect this fact. Cyrus is very social and knowledgeable, which makes him a good fit for CFC’s hands-on approach to coaching. Cyrus has coached clients at CFC as well as done personal training at a large corporate globo-gym.

Darby is a long time CFC member, turned coach, and has been a member of CFC since their early days and started coaching for CFC about 4 years ago. He is a full time Peace Officer, working for a large local agency. He has been involved in athletics and coaching for many years and is knowledgeable and passionate about what he does.

Gina is a long time athlete and CFC client turned coach. Gina came to CrossFit Centurion after many years of sports and working with other CrossFit gyms that caused her injuries due to incorrect teaching styles. After being conned into coming into CFC, Gina found not all affiliates are the same and immediately found success with the hands on coaching and in-depth explanations of the “how, what and why” of fitness and movement. Five years later and Gina is injury free and moving ahead!

Jess holds a CrossFit Level 1 Certification as well as an NSCA and NASM certification. Jess is a regular CrossFit competitor, coach, and personal trainer at CFC. Jess’ knowledge knows no bounds as she recently finished up her Masters Degree all while being a mom, coach, and athlete! Jess is quiet and unassuming, but is pound for pound one of the strongest women in CFC. She is a tremendous motivator for other women at CFC and she helps empower them to discover what they are capable of.

Kevin came to CFC about 4 years ago through a partner of his from his Law Enforcement job. Kevin is a natural athlete which made him a perfect fit to become a CFC coach and after obtaining his CrossFit Level 1 Certification, Kevin began assisting other coaches before taking a full time coaching spot on the CFC floor. Kevin is a top tier athlete who regularly competes in CrossFit events and excellent coach. He brings a great attitude and personality, and help his clients feel at ease and improve their learning experience.

Matt is a former stand-out athlete who came across CrossFit two years ago. Matt instantly transitioned his athleticism to the gym floor and began to excel at the various tasks and modalities CrossFit brought to his table. Matt has taken what he’s learned and now applies it to coaching classes at CFC. Matt is a competitive athlete in the gym and is very social and personable, making him a great fit for CFC and our hands-on approach to coaching people. Outside of the gym, Matt is a basketball and wake boarding fool.

Nicole is one of CFC’s VERY first clients and has been with us since. Nicole comes from a gymnastics background and is a regular competitor for CFC in CrossFit events. Nicole has recently found a very successful niche in competitive Olympic Weightlifting events. Nicole is small, but crazy strong and moves incredibly well which makes her efficient and effective as a coach, competitor and role model for CFC and female athletes.

Nicole is a physical therapist by profession and assists clients with prehab/rehab at CFC!

The Infamous “Buddy Holly”. Rob’s focus is strength work and he is responsible for getting folks into personalized strength programs. Don’t let that fool you though, Rob can take part in MetCon based workouts and hold his own. Rob also holds a CrossFit Level 1 Certification, is a USAW Level 1 Coach. Rob is a former U.S. Marine Corps and has worked for the Sacramento Sheriff’s Dept. for the past 15 years. As an athlete, Rob likes to lift VERY heavy objects and try feats of athleticism often called “pure insanity”.

Ryan’s congenial personality and willingness to instruct others makes him an excellent coach.

Shannon is a long time CrossFit Centurion client who made the jump to coaching after several years. Very quiet and unassuming, Shannon is a strong and fiercely competitive female athlete. Shannon gleaned tons of info over the years and applies that information to her coaching and her own athleticism. This means Shannon moves and works well across all modalities which makes her a role model to many of the female clients at CFC. Shannon is friendly and always willing to help people excel.

Steve is a CrossFit Level 1 Coach and one of the original “plank holders” at CrossFit Centurion, having been part of the Black & Red Machine when it was still based in Crazy Ivan’s garage. Steve spent way too many years working with Crazy Ivan as his SSD K9 Detail partner on graveyard shift, trying to keep Ian out of trouble. After constant badgering about CrossFit, Steve gave it a go and stuck it out.

Steven Gunsch is another longtime CrossFit Centurion member who transitioned to coaching after several years as a member. Steven is a phenomenal athlete who doesn’t know how to quit and will work at something until it’s perfected. Steven is very hands-on and loves to be able to coach folks at CFC. He is knowledgeable and energetic which brings a great atmosphere to the classes.

Taylor came to CFC fresh off of a collegiate swimming career at the University of Hawaii. Taylor found her engine and determination were a good fit for CrossFit. When introduced to the coaching staff of CFC, Taylor was hooked on the exercise science, anatomy and physiology knowledge base the coaching staff had and began her journey becoming a better athlete and future coach. Having coached youth swimming for many years, Taylor fit right into the CFC coaching staff.

Tianna is a certified Level 1 CrossFit Trainer and is continually working to improve her skill set and knowledge base within human performance, sports and health to assist her clients in reaching their goals. As a firefighter for the Consumnes Fire District in Elk Grove. Tianna came from a weightlifiting and strength athlete background and had competed and won several Police and Fire Games “Toughest Competitor Alive” competitions.

Wayland is an attendee of the CrossFit Mobility course, attendee of Catalyst Athletic’s Olympic Lifting seminar with Greg Everett, and holds a USAW Level 1 Coaches certification. One of CrossFit Centurion’s original members upon the gym growing to it’s first warehouse location in Rancho Cordova. Wayland came into CrossFit looking for a fitness modality that would keep him interested and challenged. Over the course of his time at CFC, he found his niche in strength based programming and Olympic Lifting.
